# Vireks > Vireks is a paid, privacy-first **Android screen recorder**. It records > only the screen, saves the output as a standard MP4 (H.264 + AAC) on > the device, and **never connects to the internet** — there is no > `INTERNET` permission in its Android manifest. **€5 one-time** in-app > purchase via Google Play (NO subscription), with **5 full-quality > free recordings** before the unlock is required. No ads, no > watermark, no account, no telemetry, nothing collected on the Google > Play Data Safety form. Developed and published by **ZADIO EOOD** (EIK 201209745, VAT BG201209745), Ploshtad Han Kubrat 1, 7000 Ruse, Bulgaria, European Union. Distributed exclusively through Google Play. ## What it is for Vireks targets people who need a clean, no-nonsense screen capture: - **App developers / indie makers** recording demos for Google Play store listings, support tickets, and bug reports. - **Tutorial creators** showing how to use a phone app step by step. - **Anyone** who wants a screen recorder that does not ship with ads, a watermark, a data-collection SDK, or a subscription. The screen-recorder category is crowded with FREE apps that monetise via ads, watermarks, and upsells. Vireks's pitch is the opposite trade: pay €5 once and get the recorder those apps could be if their economics allowed it. ## How a recording works 1. User taps Start. Android shows its mandatory MediaProjection consent dialog. User taps "Start now". 2. Vireks **minimises itself** and waits **3 seconds** (the Start button label advertises this so the pre-roll is expected, not a surprise). 3. The user does whatever they want to record. Vireks does **not** draw anything on screen during the recording — no Stop button, no timer, no overlay, no toast. The captured video is byte-for-byte free of Vireks UI. 4. To stop, the user **taps the top-right corner of the screen**. Vireks places a fully transparent 80 dp tap zone there. The corner is not painted into the recording — only the underlying app shows. 5. Vireks finalises the file, brings itself back to the foreground, and shows a "Recording saved" confirmation with the file path. 6. The file lands in `DCIM/VireksUserFiles/vireks_vid_.mp4` and is automatically picked up by Photos, Gallery, and the system Files app. ## Feature summary (Vireks v1) - Captures the Android screen via `MediaProjection`. - Foreground service with the mandatory FGS notification (Android requirement; no Stop button on it, no on-screen UI during recording). - Output formats: **MP4 (H.264 + AAC)** by default, **WebM (VP9 + Opus)** optional. AVI is deliberately NOT supported. - Microphone audio: optional, off by default. - Internal / system audio: not supported in v1. - 5-minute hard cap per recording. Storage-aware Start (silent green light if ≥4 max-length videos fit, warning dialog at 2-3, refuse at ≤1). - Save folder: `DCIM/VireksUserFiles/` (flat, gallery-discoverable). - Files: `vireks_vid_.`. - Optional "VireksFiles" pin-shortcut on the launcher home screen. - Free counter is on-device only (DataStore), HMAC-signed, layered. Factory reset / clearing app data resets it; we accept that trade-off because the alternative requires a server, which would force the `INTERNET` permission back in. - One-time **€5 unlock** via Google Play Billing (non-consumable). Unlock restores across devices on the same Google account. ## Privacy posture - **No `INTERNET` permission** in the final merged manifest. The billing library's transitive `INTERNET` is explicitly stripped via ``. Google Play Billing still works because the network call happens inside the Play Store app on the device, not inside Vireks's process. - **Nothing collected.** No analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising-ID read, no account, no profile, no device fingerprinting. The Google Play Data Safety form for Vireks states: no data collected, no data shared. - **Permissions actually used by Vireks v1:** - `MEDIA_PROJECTION` (per-session, granted via the system consent dialog) - `FOREGROUND_SERVICE` + `FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PROJECTION` (manifest-only) - `RECORD_AUDIO` (runtime, only if the user toggles "Record with audio: yes") - `POST_NOTIFICATIONS` (runtime, API 33+, for the FGS notification) - `SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW` ("Display over other apps", granted once, backs the transparent corner-tap) - Recordings leave the device only when the user actively shares them via the OS share sheet. - Full posture: . ## Pricing - **Vireks: €5 one-time** (Google Play in-app purchase, non-consumable). - 5 full-quality free recordings before the unlock is required. - No subscription, no trial that becomes a charge, no ads, no upsell. - VAT collected and remitted by Google Play. EU 14-day withdrawal right applies subject to Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU (the digital-content waiver activates once you begin using a recording you paid for). ## Website map - [Home](https://zadio.bg/vireks/) — Hero, features, privacy, pricing, FAQ, CTA. - [AI Overview](https://zadio.bg/vireks/ai-overview.html) — Deep Q&A and feature matrix for retrieval engines. - [Privacy Policy](https://zadio.bg/vireks/privacy-policy.html) — GDPR Art. 13-14 notice.
